Description: Dressed in a checked suit and smoking a pipe, a pickpocket is chased by two policemen. He gives his pursuers the slip by performing a variety of magic tricks, such as disappearing or changing form, so that the police are unable to apprehend him. This film represents part of Chomón's evolution from 'cinema of attractions' (which focuses on astounding the audience through visual trickery) to narrative cinema, although this piece is not without its tricks.
